The Houston Dynamo and Dynamo & Dash Charities are rolling out the red carpet for young soccer enthusiasts this May with free 90-minute coaching sessions at Memorial Park. The fun kicks off at Memorial Park throughout the month of May in 2025. This beautiful location provides the perfect backdrop for budding soccer stars to learn and grow on the field. Parents should mark their calendars and get ready to sign up their kids for this incredible experience!
The coaching sessions will be led by some highly experienced staff, including the newly appointed assistant coach of the Houston Dash, Jaime Frias. With over 20 years of coaching experience at collegiate and international levels, Frias is no stranger to the game. One impressive feather in his cap is his role as head coach for the University of Houston women’s soccer program, where he achieved a notable victory within the Big 12 Conference. With such an accomplished coach at the helm, participants can expect top-notch guidance and mentorship.
Before his current role with the Dash, Frias had quite the impressive coaching career. He previously brought his coaching prowess to teams like the University of Virginia, where he contributed to three ACC regular-season titles and an ACC tournament win in 2012. Frias also made waves with the U-18 Women’s National Team and as an assistant coach for the U-20 Women’s National Team from 2017 to 2019, even assisting in multiple U-20 Women’s World Cups. His rich background truly makes him a valuable asset to the coaching staff!
But there’s more news in the Houston soccer scene! The Houston Dash have also brought in Fabrice Gautrat as the new head coach. Gautrat steps into this vital role, filling the shoes of Fran Alonso, who left the position in September. With a solid track record as an assistant coach for top teams like the North Carolina Courage and Chicago Red Stars, Gautrat is poised to lead the Dash into an exciting new chapter in their history. In fact, this dynamic duo of coaches is set to elevate the Dash and its players to great new heights!
Jaime Frias shared in excitement about taking on this role. Coaching in his hometown is not just a job, it’s a dream come true for him. As part of a team dedicated to nurturing young talent, Frias’s enthusiasm will surely inspire the young athletes in attendance.
